Welcome
About us: Based in Khorog, GBAO,Pakol Torism ; is small, community-based tour agent which plans and escorts tailor-made trekking and jeep tours in Tajikistan & North east of Afghanistan (Wakhan). Our mission is to enable our clients to experience the unique culture and landscape of the country in a respectful and sustainable manner: the preservation of the landscape and the lives of local people is paramount at all times. In this way we believe that our clients, host families and everyone else involved can have meaningful as well as memorable experiences and encounters.
Specialties: Pakol Travel tour agent is specializes in guided treks in both the Fan Mountains and the Pamirs. We also arrange cultural jeep safaris through historic areas like the Wakhan Valley between Tajikistan and Afghanistan. A typical trekking tour will also include elements of jeep travel en route to/from the trekking areas.
Signature trek: As our name suggests, Pakol Travel forte is enabling our clients to explore the Pamirs---Bam-i-Dunya or ‘The Roof of the World’ in the local language—either on foot or horseback…or a combination of the two. We recommend the 6-day/5-night Bachor Circuit: a high-altitude (over 4,000m) trek of moderate difficulty, it includes stunning lakes (the so-called ‘Blue Eyes of Central Asia’), high passes and towering mountains. More strenuous treks, including on glaciers, can be arranged on request, subject to clients’ fitness levels and experience.
Accommodation: In cities and towns like Dushanbe and Khorog we use standard hotels and guesthouses. When ‘on the road’ we arrange for clients to stay in basic but welcoming homestays with local families. We also provide tents for the treks.
Transportation: please add about the make/type of cars used.
